They aren't anonymous hands in a factory. They're survivors of human trafficking who came through AIM's restoration program and chose a new path. Learning a skilled trade, earning a fair wage, and writing their own next chapter. These are real women from AIM's story.
"Before I had this job, I felt like I was worthless because of the situations I was in. But when I came to AIM, everyone welcomed me and loved me. I felt like a princess."
Phally makes shirts and bracelets at the AIM Employment Centre, where she's worked for three years. "When we are in need, they always support us," she says, a steady job, and a place that finally saw her worth.
"Before, when I was working at a bad place, people looked down at me...they viewed me as trash. Now, this place gives value to us. We feel valued, and that is very special."
Srey Lin has worked at the Employment Centre for almost seven years. Through AIM she finished school, went to college, and learned a skilled trade, and found a community that honours her.
"I was a girl who felt meek and I'd lost all hope of being rescued. The AIM family have helped me feel so much stronger. I am now able to walk forward with strength and confidence."
