AIM | BRINGING FREEDOM
AIM is a humanitarian organisation rescuing, healing,
empowering, and protecting people affected by human trafficking and forced
labour.
They provide living wages, health services, a safe work environment,
and training for diverse employment opportunities. Recently, some AIM sewing
team members became teachers, realestate agents, business owners, counsellors and seamstress trainers at the sewing centre.
RESCUE
Since 2014, AIM SWAT has worked closely with local law enforcement to lead rescue missions that free survivors from human trafficking. Every investigation results in the arrest of traffickers and the immediate rescue of individuals trapped in exploitation.
These operations are critical in delivering real, tangible freedom to those who need it most.
In nearly 20 years, thousands of survivors have been rescued and hundreds of traffickers arrested.
EMPOWER
AIM’s Employment Centre (AEC) supports women who have been rescued from trafficking, as well as those at risk of exploitation. In 2025, 133 women received safe employment at AEC. (p. 7, AIM 2025 Annual Report)
WOMEN EMPLOYED AT AIM’S
EMPLOYMENT CENTER (AEC) IN
SOUTHEAST ASIA
Alongside safe, dignified work, AIM recognises that true restoration requires more than income alone. AIM provides additional support including education, healthcare, counselling, childcare, and skills training, while also building foundational math, language, and budgeting skills; opening pathways to meaningful employment beyond the Centre.
Goodnap contributes to this journey by supplying samples, patterns, and measurement charts, paired with practical training, as well as donating all reusable fabric off-cuts to help the team grow their technical skills and deepen their garment engineering capabilities.
COMMUNITY
Over 1 in 10 Cambodian children do not go to school. It is also estimated that more than 300,000 children are required to work to support the needs of their families. “Cambodian children leave school to help alleviate poverty back home.”
To address this national education issue, AIM provides aid for families in need and has established a school, so that the children of these families can have an education.
There are currently 1,266 students enrolled at AIM school, protected from potential exploitation through education and humanitarian aid. A further 450 children, youth, and community members were trained in trafficking prevention. (p.7, AIM 2025 Annual Report)
