Planet Matters

As a sustainable social enterprise, we strive to ensure everything we make has a positive impact on people, animals and the planet. Our commitment to sustainability is reflected in every aspect of our production process from fibres to packaging.

We carefully select products that are natural, biodegradeable, and have minimal environmental impact. Including fabrics, labels and packaging that use less natural resources to create, and reduce pollution, environmental damage and waste. We aim to achieve best practices at all levels of production to ensure that our garments enhance the welfare of people and planet from bloom to bedroom.

We prioritise natural and organic fibres which support and protect farmer's health and safeguards clean water and food supplies for local communities. As a result, the clothes we wear are not only better for the planet but also safer for us.

Organic Linen - European Flax™

Our Linen Collection is made from the finest European Flax™ . A certified organic flax grown by a group of farmers along the coastal strip of land in Western Europe, that stretches from Normandy in France, to the Netherlands and Belgium. The farming traditions and experience handed down over generations and the ideal climate conditions result in growing flax that is of exceptional quality. They are soft, strong, moisture absorbent and thermoregulating. Linen sleepwear is perfect for promoting a good night’s sleep due to its absorption capacity, breathability, and ability to wick moisture, regulating body temperature.

The European Flax™ certification guarantees traceability and sustainability for this premium fibre and also ensures it's social and ethical responsibilities - in compliance with the rules of the International Labour Office. These standards cover fundamental rights at work, including freedom of association, non-discrimination and elimination of forced labor and child labor.

The linen also is certified with the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) - an internationally recognised certification for organic fabrics. GOTS also includes social criteria, ensuring fair working conditions and prohibiting child labor.

2. Organic Cotton - OCS

Our Organic Cotton Collection is made from the softest, organic cotton (less than 1% of the world's cotton is organic). Organic cotton is toxic free, reduces pollution, supports communities, and ensures the clothes we wear are safer for us since they don’t contain the myriad of chemicals often found in conventional cotton clothes.

Our organic sleepwear is OCS Certified -The Organic Content Standard, ensuring it is traceable from farm to pyjama. OCS covers all aspects of the supply chain, from harvesting to manufacturing, labeling, and distribution. Organic cotton protects the earth from environmental damage and keeps the land fertile for much longer. Organic cotton also supports and protects farmers and their communities, safeguarding their clean water and food supplies.

4. Packaging - Postage - Labels

Goodnap's postal boxes are made from recyclable materials like cardboard, that is sourced from sustainably managed forests.

We choose plastic alternatives where necessary, for instance, we have switched purchasing our transit packaging bags to local Cambodia business Cleanbodia. Their bags are made from Cassava root starch, which is bioplastic certified by OK biobased (by TÜV Austria) and made from biologically renewable sources.

Goodnap's brand and care labels are made from unbleached cotton, which are fully biodegradeable. Unbleached cotton requires less processing, reducing the use of chemicals and energy, and prevents chlorine from polluting waterways and ecosystems.

5. "Waste isn't waste until you waste it"- Will.I.AM

As a sustainable social enterprise, we make sure that as little as possible goes to waste. We repurpose and upcycle, utilising upcycled kimonos, dead stock, and by carefully selecting fabrics made using circular practices that minimise water usage, are biodegradable and reduce pollution and waste.

We avoid mass productionand instead make small collections to reduce excess stock. We choose all of our materials and design our sleepwear from the ground up to ensure that oursleepwear can be treasured for years.
